I really like this little 1985 Bayliner 1600 Capri Cuddy Cabin, and I wanted to provide more protection from sun and wind and also use it as an overnighter on the water with my family. So first step is to build a custom hard top that can later have a camper style soft enclosure snap on the back.
The hard top plan included opening front window for easy access to the bow for sunning or dropping anchor, sliding side windows, and lowering the deck between the seats 3 inches to give more headroom.
This custom hard top is a fiberglass foam composite using epoxy resin and biaxial fabrics that makes a very strong and light top for this boat.
Although a lot of this project was hand fabricated, a majority of the parts came from foreandaftmarine.com. I stopped ordering from iboats.com due to large price increases and double charges for shipping. Go figure.
